Question 983852
Hi dear,
<prev> {{{(y-k)^(2)=(4*a)*(x-h)}}} is the equation of a parabola.
since the parabola pass through the (7,1),
then substitute the point in the equation above.
 {{{(1-5)^(2)=(4*a)*(7-2)}}}
a=4/5
Also the standard equation of a parabola is given by
{{{(y-k)^(2)=(4*a)*(x-h)}}}
where (h,k) is the coordinate of it's vertice.
If a=4/5
    (h,k)=(2,5)
substitute the above in the standard equation and get
{{{(y-5)^2=(16/5)*((x-2)/1)}}}
