Question 982865
X^2+(x+6)^2=(x+12)^2
I got the answer with trial an error. But i don't understand how to show the work.
(Finding the lengths of all legs of a right triangle)
=======
X^2+(x+6)^2=(x+12)^2
------
x^2 + x^2 + 12x + 36 = x^2 + 24x + 144
------
x^2 - 12x - 108 = 0
-------
(x-18)(x+6) = 0
-------
Positive solution::
x = 18
