 48 = 2x^2 + 4x 
2x^2 + 4x - 48 + 0
Divide throughout by 2
x^2 + 2x - 24 = 0
Factorise
(x - 4)(x + 6) = 0
x + 6 = 0
x = -6 (no answer as -ve)
x - 4 = 0
x = 4.
Therefore:
Width = 4 units
Length = 6 units
