Let, the volume of three bottles be 60, 36, 24 liters.

We should note that, when a sample from any bottle is taken, the ratio of phenyl and water remains same as that in the bottle.

The below gives the amount of phenyl and water from the three samples taken from each bottle.

When the three samples are mixed, total amount of phenyl = 18 liters and water=36 liters.

Hence, the new solution has the ratio of phenyl and water as 1:2.
