Question 977582
Hi there,
3x+2y=27...(1)
5x-3y=7 ...(2)
Use number(2)
5x - 3y = 7
5x = 7 + 3y
x = (7 + 3y)/5
Substitute this value for x in (1)
3x + 2y = 27
3((7+3y)/5) + 2y = 27
Multiply out
(21+9y)/5 + 2y = 27
Multiply through by 5
21 + 9y + 10y = 135
Collect like terms
19y = 135 - 21
19y = 114
y = 6
Substitute y = 6 into (2)
5x - 3y = 7
5x - 3(6) = 7
5x -18 = 7
5x = 7 + 18
5x = 25
x = 5
Hope this helps:-)
