The questions "What <i>is</i> an exponential function<i>s</i>?" and "What <i>is</i> a natural exponential function<i>s</i>?" are both examples of poor English grammar.

Perhaps you meant:

"What <i>are</i> exponential function<i>s</i>?" and "What <i>are</i> natural exponential function<i>s</i>?"

An exponential function is a function where the variable is in the exponent. A natural exponential function is an exponential function that has the Euler number, *[tex \Large e], as the base.

Example of a general exponential function:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ f(x)\ =\ a^x]

Example of a natural exponential function:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ f(x)\ =\ e^x]

John
*[tex \LARGE e^{i\pi}\ +\ 1\ =\ 0]
My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
