Question 976089
Let {{{ a }}} = the amount to invest
in the 5.5% interest account
{{{ 15000 - a }}} = amount invested
in the 7% interest account
--------------------------------
I can now say:
{{{ 635 = .055a + .07*( 15000 - a ) }}}
{{{ 635 = .055a + 1050 - .07a }}}
{{{ .015a = 1050 - 635 }}}
{{{ .015a = 415 }}}
{{{ a = 27666.67 }}}
Something is wrong -this is more than the original
$15,000 that was invested.
Suppose $15,000 was all invested at the lower rate:
5.5%
{{{ .055*15000 = 825 }}}
So, there is absolutely no way you can make less than
$825 with these two investments -you can't make $635

I don't think it can be done
