Let *[tex \Large g] represent the number of girls.  Then the number of boys is either *[tex \Large g\ +\ 2] or *[tex \Large 1.05g].  Set these two expressions equal to each other and solve for *[tex \Large g] to find the number of girls.  Then add 2 to find the number of boys.  Add the number of boys to the number of girls, and presuming you don't have any transgender people in there messing up the calculation you should have your answer.
