Question 955579
The product of two consecutive integers is 14 more than their sum. Set up an equation that can be used to find the the two numbers and solve it.
-----
Equations:
x(x+1) = (2x+1)+14
x^2 + x = 2x+15
---
x^2 -x - 15 = 0
-------
x = [1+-sqrt(1-4*-15)]/2
---
x = [1+sqrt(61)]/2
That is not an integer.
