Question 948036
Write the equation of a quadratic function that is concave down and has a vertex at the point (4, -2). The parabola is not stretched at all.

(Don't I need another point?? - He didn't give us one)
<pre>Vertex form of the equation of a parabola: {{{y = a(x - h)^2 + k}}}
Since the parabola was NOT STRETCHED, and is concave down, then {{{a = - 1}}}
With vertex being (4, - 2), and a being - 1, {{{y = a(x - h)^2 + k}}} becomes:
{{{y = - 1(x - 4)^2 - 2}}}__________{{{highlight_green(y = - (x - 4)^2 - 2)}}}
