Question 947280
Mark is interested in measuring the height of a tree in his yard. He measures the length of the tree's shadow at 18ft at the same time his own shadow is 3ft 6 inches. If mark is 5" 10" how tall is the tree.
 ------
Use a proportion::
tree/shadow = man/shadow
-----
Note:: 5 ft 10 inches = [5 10/12] ft
t/18 = [5 10/12]/3.5
-----
t = 18[5.8333l/3.5]
tree = 30 ft
