Question 80101
I assume you want to solve for x...
{{{5x/6-x/2=3}}}
Like any other fraction addition, you need to find an LCD so you can add the fraction. The LCD of 2 fractions with denominators 2 and 6 is 6. So I can rewrite this as:
{{{5x/6-3x/6=3}}}
Now that these 2 fractions have the same denominator, you can subtract them:
{{{2x/6=3}}}
Solve for x:
{{{2x=18}}}
{{{highlight(x=9)}}}
Good Luck,
