Question 930683
Please help me solve this I would also love to know how to do it so an explanation would be great. Here is the problem: 2x-5(-x/4+2)=29
<pre><font face = "Tohoma" size = 4 color = "indigo"><b>{{{2x - 5(- x/4 + 2) = 29}}}
{{{2x + 5x/4 - 10 = 29}}} ------- Distributing - 5 to get rid of parentheses
{{{8x + 5x - 40 = 116}}} ------ Multiplying by LCD, 4 to rid equation of denominator
{{{13x = 116 + 40}}} --------- 1st step towards isolating the variable, x
{{{13x = 156}}}
{{{x = 156/13}}}, or {{{highlight_green(12)}}}
You can do the check!!
