Question 78693
This depends upon the problem. USUALLY there are TWO solutions. If an absolute value is being compared to a POSITIVE number, then there will be TWO solutions.

If an absolute value is compared to 0, then there will be only ONE solution.

If an absolute value is LESS THAN or EQUAL to a NEGATIVE number, then there will be NO SOLUTIONS!

If an absolute value is GREATER THAN or EQUAL to a NEGATIVE number, then there are infinitely many solutions, ALL REAL NUMBERS!!
