Question 926367
3^(2x-1) = 5^(x+4)

^ = to the power of
<pre><font face = "Tohoma" size = 4 color = "indigo"><b>{{{3^(2x - 1) = 5^(x + 4)}}}
{{{log 3^(2x - 1) = log 5^(x + 4)}}} ------- Taking logs of both sides
{{{(2x - 1) log 3 = (x + 4) log 5}}}
{{{(2x - 1)/(x + 4) = log 5/log 3}}}
{{{(2x - 1)/(x + 4) = 1.464974}}}
{{{2x - 1 = 1.464974(x + 4)}}} ----- Cross-multiplying
              2x – 1 = 1.464974x + 5.85989
2x – 1.464974x = 5.85989 + 1
         .535026x = 6.85989
                    {{{x = 6.85989/.535026}}}, or {{{highlight_green(12.8216)}}}
You can do the check!!</font face = "Tohoma" size = 4 color = "indigo"> </b>
