Step 2: Sketch each interval. Remember [a,b] is the closed interval from a to b, (a,b) is the open interval from a to b (can be drawn using hollow circles at a and b to symbolize that a,b are not in the interval), and [a,b) means the interval includes a but not b.


For example, *[tex \large [2,3] \cup (1,5)] would just be the interval (1,5), so you would sketch (1,5), making sure you do not include 1 or 5.
