Question 916698
the product of two consecutive positive even integers is 10 more than 11 times the smaller of the integers. find the integers
let number is X and other number is X+2
X(x+2)= 10+11x
X^2+2x-10-11x=0
x^2-9x-10=0
X^2-10x+x-10=0
x(x-10)-1(x-10)=0
(x-10) (x-1)=0
x=10   or X=1
10 only even number where as 1 is odd number therefor 10 is right answer
so consecutive even numbers are 10 and 12
