Question 915700
Good evening student.

1. 2x+5=7

subtract 5 from both sides and simplify

2x-5+5=7-5

the 5's on the left cancel out leaving:

2x=2

divide both sides by 2

2x/2=2/2

the 2's on the left cancel out leaving:

x=1

2. 1/6n+2=9

get rid of the fraction by multiplying both sides by 6

6(1/6n+2)=9x6

the 6's on the left cancel, leaving:

n+12=54

subtract 12 from each side and simplify:

n-12+12=54-12

the 12's on the left cancel leaving:

n=42.
