Question 912740
"A rectangle's length and width are in a ratio of 3:1" means

Length = 3x

Width = 1x

Area = Length * Width

A = L*W

75 = 3x*1x

75 = 3x^2

3x^2 = 75

x^2 = 75/3

x^2 = 25

x = sqrt(25)

x = 5

-----------------

Length = 3x = 3*5 = 15

Width = 1x = 1*5 = 5

The length is 15 ft and the width is 5 ft
