Question 912410
A bag contains 10 counters, of which 7 are green and 3 are while. A counter is picked at random from the bag and its color is noted. The counter is not replaced. A second counter is then picked. Find the probability that
 a) the first counter is green:: 7/10
-----------------------------------------------------
 b) the first counter is green and the second is white::(7/10)(3/9)= 7/30
------------------------------------------------
 c) the counters are different colors
P(both are green) = 7C2/10C2
P(both are white) = 3C2/10C2
---
Ans: P(diffferent colors) = 1-[7C2+3C2]/10C2 = 1 - [24/45] = 21/45 = 7/15
