Question 912396

Consecutive integers are integers that follow in sequence, each number being 1 more than the previous number, represented by {{{n}}}, {{{n +1}}}, {{{n + 2}}}, {{{n + 3}}}, ..., where {{{n}}} is any integer.

let's two consecutive integers be {{{n}}} and {{{n +1}}}, and let's say {{{(n +1n)>n}}}

given: the smaller {{{n}}}  plus twice the larger {{{n+1}}} is {{{-61}}}

so,    {{{n+2(n+1)=-61}}}

 {{{n+2n+2=-61}}}

{{{3n=-61-2}}}

{{{n=-63/3}}}

{{{highlight(n=-21)}}} ...the smaller integer

and

{{{n+1=-21+1=-20}}} =>{{{highlight(n+1=-20)}}}........ the larger integer
