Question 911749
Think geometrically. If two lines intersect they must have different slopes, if they are parallel i.e. same slope, they will never intersect, and if one line is a scalar multiple of another i.e. a stretch or compression for line segments they will intersect infinitely many times as every point on line 1 has to be on line 2! Now this becomes a simple check of slope: line 1 has slope -5/6 and line 2 has slope -5/6 so the lines never intersect in a point. Have a nice day and good luck with your class.
