Question 76846
Write an equation of the line that passes through the point and has the specified slope. Sketch the line. m=0, (-5/4, 6)
You can either memorise that the slope of a horizontal line is m=0 and the equation of a horizontal line is y=k. Where k is a constant.
Therefore the equation of this line is {{{highlight(y=6)}}}
:
Or you can use the point slope formula of a line {{{highlight(y-y[1]=m(x-x[1]))}}}
m=0 (x1,y1)=(-5/4,6)
{{{y-6=0(x-(-5/4))}}}
{{{y-6=0(x+5/4)}}}
{{{y-6=0}}}
{{{y-6+6=0+6}}}
{{{highlight(y=6)}}}
Personally, I think the first way is easier.
Happy Calculating!!!!
