Question 75902
The equations linking 2d-polar and 2d-cartesian are (learn these!)

*[tex x=r\cos\theta] and *[tex y=r\sin\theta]

Substituting these into your equation of a line gives:

*[tex 4r\cos\theta + 3r\sin\theta =5]

polar equations are normally written as *[tex r(\theta)=] so by factoring an *[tex r] and dividing, you should get:

*[tex r=\frac{5}{4\cos\theta + 3\sin\theta}]

Of course, this isn't valid when *[tex 4\cos\theta + 3\sin\theta = 0] you should think about when this happens, and what it means.

Hope that helps,
