Question 897669
10 papers in t time, hours.
10+5 papers in t+2 hours.

IF IF IF we can assume Emma writes to produce papers at a uniform rate, the the rate for the 10 papers is the same as the rate for the 10+5 papers.

{{{10/t=(10+5)/(t+2)}}}, set as a simple uniform rates problem, equation. You might be more interested in a linear equation situation, but I see this more easily (just me, right now) as a uniform rates situation.

Solve for t. You can then use it to find the paper-writing rate at which Emma works. Use the found rate to find how many papers she writes in 3 hours.

{{{t=4}}} hours, {{{5/2}}} papers per hour is her rate.
If time were 3 hours, then {{{(5/2)*3=7&1/2}}} papers.
