Question 894426
Part (a)
The box is 4 by 4 by 2, measured in inches.
Volume is {{{4*4*2}}} cubic inches.
Do the arithmetic operation connected with multiplication from left to right.
Volume is 32 cubic inches.

Part (b)
A piece of pie would not be round, unless this is an unusual form of pie. Yet,
you are given that this "piece" of pie is round with diameter 3 inches and thickness
meaning height of 1 inch. This is a cylinder shape. The volume of this pie in the box
is {{{1*pi*(3/2)^2}}}, {{{highlight(9pi/4=7)}}} cubic inches, to the nearest whole number.

The question of this size difference being deceptive is uncertain. We do not know the reason
that the product designers fit the 7 cubic inch pie into the 32 cubic inch box. The handler and
the customer would want enough room to lift the pie from the box and avoid crushing because of
possible flexibility of the box.
