Question 890435

Write each expression in power form ax^b for numbers a and b.

24/(2√x)^3

For some odd reason I keep getting this wrong. The book says 3x^-3/2, but when I get I get 3/x^3/2. What am I doing wrong?

Your answer is correct, somewhat. It's correct, but it's not in the form that is requested. The form requested is: {{{ax^b}}}
Yours is {{{highlight(3/x^(3/2))}}}, which is the same as: {{{(3/1) * (1/x^(3/2))}}}, and since {{{1/x^(3/2)}}} is the same as {{{x^(- 3/2)}}}, we get:
{{{(3/1) * (x^(- 3/2))}}}, which also equals: {{{highlight_green(highlight_green(3x^(- 3/2)))}}}
If this is NOT CLEAR enough, say so in the thank you note, and I'll send something more legible.
