Question 888036
Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line that passes through (3,7) and (7,4).
<pre>
STEP 1: Determine the slope, or m, using the slope formula, m = {{{(y[1] - y[2])/(x[1] - x[2])}}}
STEP 2: Use the point-slope formula: {{{y - y[1] = m(x - x[1])}}}
Note that in this case,
{{{y[1]}}} can be: 7
{{{y[2]}}} can be: 4
{{{x[1]}}} can be: 3
{{{x[2]}}} cam be: 7
You will then have the slope-intercept form of the equation after substituting all the variables
identified above, and solving for y.
