Question 886381
A vessel contains 20% solution of acetic acid and another vessel contains 50% solution of acetic acid. Mang Luis needs 300cc of 30% acetic acid. How many cc of each solution must he mix?
-------------------
Equation:
acid + acid = acid
0.20x + 0.50(300-x) = 0.30*300
---
20x + 50*300 - 50x = 30*300
-30x = -20*300
x = (2/3)300 = 200cc (amt. of 20% solution needed)
300-x = 100cc (amt of 50% solution needed)
