Discrete data is counted; Continuous data is measured.
Can you have half a cellphone?  No.  You have 5 cellphones or 6 cellphones.
Therefore, it is discrete.
If, however, you were measuring the time someone talked on a cellphone, that would be continuous -- it could be 82.5 minutes or 51.12 minutes, etc.
