Question 884631

you have

{{{ -2 + -3 - -4 + -5}}}

or you can write it like this:

{{{ (-2) + (-3) -( -4 )+ (-5)}}}....recall: plus and plus gives you plus, minus and plus gives you minus, minus and minus gives you plus

so, if you have {{{(-2)+(-3)}}} means you get to add two negative numbers and you just add then and give the sum negative sign: you will have {{{(-2)+(-3)=-5}}}
then you have {{{-(-4)}}} and that gives you {{{4}}}

so, you will have to add {{{4}}} and {{{(-5)}}}; recall the rule for adding positive and negative number-you subtract smaller absolute value from greater absolute value and give the difference the sign of greater absolute value (in your case smaller absolute value has the number {{{4}}} and the greater absolute value has the number {{{(-5)}}})

and {{{4+(-5)=-1}}}

so, in given problem you will have

{{{ (-2) + (-3) -( -4 )+ (-5)=-5+4+(-5)=-5-1=highlight(-6)}}}
