Question 9333
I recommend that you clear the fractions by multiplying both sides of the equation by the LCD, which is 24. That will clear the fractions and make it easier to solve.

{{{x + 5/8 + (3x)/4 =2/3 +5x}}}

{{{24* x +24* ( 5/8) + 24*((3x)/4 )=24*(2/3) +24*5x}}}
{{{24x + 3*5 + 6*3x = 8*2 + 120x}}}
{{{24x + 15 + 18x = 16 + 120x}}}
{{{42x + 15 = 16 + 120x}}}

Subtract 120x from each side:
{{{42x - 120x + 15 = 16 + 120x - 120x }}}
{{{-78x + 15 = 16}}}
{{{-78x = 1}}}

Divide both sides by -78:
{{{x = -1/78}}}

That's UGLY! But that's what I got!! You had better check my math, because I make a LOT of mistakes, and it's getting LATE!!
