Question 883406
Betsy King, one of the champions of women's golf hit a ball with an initial velocity of 100 feet per second
The distance that a golf ball travels is found by the formula
d= (((Vo)^2)/g) sin^2(t)
where Vo is the initial velocity, g is the acceleration due to gravity and is the measurement of the angle that the initial path of the ball makes with the ground. The acceleration due to gravity is 32ft/sec^2
=================================.
 a) Write an expression for the distance the ball travels in terms of "t".
d= (((Vo)^2)/g) sin^2(t)

b) Find the distance Ms. King's ball travelled if the angle between the initial path of the ball and the ground measured 60°.
d = (100^2/32)*sin^2(60)
d = (100^2/32)*(sqrt(3)/2)^2
d = 234.375
