Question 882334
i have a cylinder where diamter is 6 yd and slant height is 10 yds...what is the volume?
I know v=pi*r squared * height ....radius is half of diamter which would be 3...so it's 3.14 * 9 *height...I am stuck
-----------
If you mean a right cone:
Find the height. It's a right triangle, slant ht = hypotenuse, 1 side = r
{{{10^2 = 3^2 + h^2}}}
{{{h = sqrt(91)}}}
----
{{{Vol = pi*r^2*h/3 = pi*9*sqrt(91)/3}}}
{{{Vol = pi*3*sqrt(91)}}}
==================
If you mean a cylinder:
{{{Vol = pi*r^2*slant height = 90pi}}}
