Question 881461
Please help me solve this!

(x+3)(3x+5)=7

this is how I've tried to solve it:

(x+3)(3x+5)-7=0 ********* ok so far

(x+3)=0 = x=-3  ***** why does x+3 = 0?  Hint, it doesn't.
(x+3)(3x+5)-7=0
Multiply the terms.
{{{3x^2 + 14x + 15 - 7 = 0}}}
{{{3x^2 + 14x + 8 = 0}}}
