Question 872078
Each triangle has a height of 12 and a base of 4.
The area of each triangle is {{{A=(1/2)bh=(1/2)(4)(12)=24}}}
There are 6 triangles.
So then,
{{{SA=6(24)=144}}}{{{cm^2}}} That's answer a).
I'm assuming you don't include the area of the hexagonal base (?).
The hexagonal base would add {{{A[hex]=(3/2)sqrt(3)*(4)^2=24*sqrt(3)}}}
{{{SA=144+24*sqsrt(3)}}}
But if you add that you'll get answer b).
So I guess you need to make the choice.
