Take another look at your factoring of the original polynomial.  When you factor out *[tex \Large x\ -\ 5], you get *[tex \Large 2x^3\ +\ x^2\ + 4x\ +\ 2].  Try *[tex \Large 2x\ +\ 1] as your next factor...
