Question 861323
<pre>

Hi, there--

PROBLEM:
Identify the solution (s) of the system of equation, if any:
-6x-2y=18
2y=-6x-18

SOLUTION:
Rearrange the second equation.
2y=-6x-18 --> 6x + 2y = -18

Multiply each term in the first equation by -1.
-6x-2y=18 --> 6x + 2y = -18

We see that the equations are equivalent (i.e. On the coordinate grid, they are the same line.)

This is called a dependent, consistent system and it has infinitely many solutions (all the points on the
line.)

Hope this helps,
