Question 850350

The sum of a three digit number is 10. The units digit is seven times larger than the hundreds digit and the tens is one less than three times the hundreds. What is the number?
<pre>
Let hundreds digit be H
Then units digit is 7H, and tens digit is 3H – 1
Therefore, H + 7H + 3H – 1 = 10
11H = 11
H, or hundreds digit: {{{11/1}}}, or 1
Tens digit:           3(1) – 1, or 3 – 1, or 2
Units digit:          7(1), or 7
Three-digit number:   {{{highlight_green(127)}}}
You can do the check!!
