Question 71576
The first angle of a triangle is three times the measure of the third angle. The second angle is five less that the third angle. Find the measure of each angle.
-------
Let the measure of third angle be "x".
Then measure of first angle is "3x".
And measure of second angle is "x-5"
---------
EQUATION:
1st + 2nd + 3rd = 180
3x + x-5 + x = 180
5x=185
x=37 degrees (measure of 3rd angle)
x-5=32 degrees (measure of 2nd angle)
3x= 111 degrees (measure of 1s angle)
