Question 849908
Brand C sells 21g bags of chocolate that contain 29% saturated
fats. To make their product they combine Brand A chocolate which
contains 35% saturated fats and Brand B chocolate which contains
25% saturated fats. To obtain one bag of chocolate brand C, how
much of A and B do they need to use?
--------------------------
Equation:
fat + fat = fat
0.35x + 0.25(21-x) = 0.29*21
-------
35x + 25*21 - 25x = 29*21
------
10x = 4*21
x = (2/5)(21
x = 8.8 grams (amt. of 35% product needed)
21-8.8  = 12.2 grams (amt. of 25% product needed)
