Question 849264
{{{3x-ky+(-3x)=1+(-3x)}}}
{{{-ky+3x+(-3x)=1+(-3x)}}}
{{{-ky+0=1+(-3x)}}}
{{{-ky=1+(-3x)}}}
{{{-ky(-1/y)=(1+(-3x))(-1/y)}}}
{{{(-1)(-1)k(1)=(-1-(-3))/y}}}
{{{highlight(highlight(k=(-1+3x)/y))}}}

You already know what values you will use for x and y. Substitute into the solved formula for k and evaluate.

Do not let the finely detailed steps bother you; I'm not sure what kind of understanding yet you have. The solution for k in symbols could use much fewer steps, like this:
{{{3x-ky=1}}}
{{{-ky=1-3x}}}
{{{k=(1-3x)/(-y)}}}
{{{highlight(highlight(k=(-1+3x)/y))}}}, which is the same as {{{k=(3x-1)/y}}}.
