Question 70844

{{{f(x)= x^2-7x+10}}}
.
To solve each of the three problems look inside the given f(x) and plug that value in for x
on the right side of the equation.
.
I'll make up an example. Find f(2). This tells you to put 2 into the right side of the equation
in place of x. So for f(2) you calculate:
.
{{{f(2)= 2^2 - 7*2 + 10 = 4 - 14 + 10 = 0}}}
.
Here's another example. Find f(-3). Plug -3 in for x in the equation so that it becomes:
.
{{{f(-3) = (-3)^2 - 7*(-3) + 10 = 9 + 21 + 10 = 40}}}
.
Hope that by now you have figured out how to get f(0), f(5), and f(-2). The answers
are: f(0) = 10, f(5) = 0, and f(-2) = 28. You do the work needed and use these answers
just to check your work.
.
Hope this helps you to understand this process better.
