Question 838273
The surface area of the pond is A=Pi*r^2 where r is the radius. Sooo
A=Pi*(0.75)^2
A= Pi*(0.5625)=(3.14)*(0.5625)
A=1.77 sq meters
Let x=number of (1/10) of sq meters contained in the surface area
(1/10)x=1.77 multiply each side by 10
x=(1.77)*10=(17.7)= number of (1/10)'s sq meters contained in the surface area
Then the total length of all the fish =(5cm)*17.7=88.5 cm
Now if the fish she chooses are 8cm then the total number of fish allowed is (88.5)/8=11.06 but since you can't have .06 of a fish the answer is 11

Hope this helps---ptaylor
