Question 837255
my daughter is twice as old as my son and half my age in 22 years my son qill be half my age hiw old is the daughter?? this doesnt make sense in first part of question daughter half the mum age, secind part the son half the age of the mum how does this work?
------
Equations:
d = 2s
m = 2d
s+22 = (1/2)(m+22)
------
Modify::
Since s = (1/2)d and d = (1/2)m, then s = (1/4)m
-----
Substitute for "s" and solve for "m":
(1/4)m + 22 = (1/2)m + 11
(1/4)m = 11
Mother's age = 44 yrs
Daughter = 22 yrs
Son = 11 years
