Question 836802
Does each set of numbers form a Pythagorean triangle? Explain why or why not. And then it gives me three numbers like: 15, 20, 25.
:
Pythagorean theorem can be written a^2 + b^2 = c^2
in the given example, does 15^2 + 20^2 equal 25^2? if it does it's a valid set
225 + 400 = 625, so it is a good set
:
do this with each set of numbers for example 30, 12, 36
30^2 + 12^2 = 36^2
900 + 144 does not equal 1296, so it is not a valid pythag set.
