Question 832910
Can someone please help me with this equation? It says,

write the equation in point slope form for the line with the given slope that contains the given point.
slope=5;(1,7) is on the line.

I'm just confused, but I thought i could put (1,7)=5 But i'm just not sure, thanks in advanced ! :)<pre>
Point-slope form of a line: {{{y - y[1] = m(x - x[1])}}}, where:
{{{y[1] = 7}}}
{{{x[1] = 1}}}
m, or slope = 5

Thus, {{{y - y[1] = m(x - x[1])}}} becomes: {{{highlight_green(y - 7 = 5(x - 1))}}}
Solve this for y, and you'll have the equation you seek.
You can do the check!!

If you need a complete and detailed solution, let me know!!
