III. Why Algebra is Important
a Applications in everyday life
etc, etc, etc
b. As a building block for higher math and science

IV. How to Study Algebra
 V etc, etc,
VI
etc
LAST Summary or Conclusion

As an "A" student, you should not need much help in putting together your outline and when you get it together in a manner that suits you, then writing should be easy. The more effort you put into making a clear, detailed outline, the less problems you will have with writing the essay.

Also, you can do all your research off the internet. For example, do a google search on "definitions of Algebra" or "Topics in Algebra" and you can pick and choose.
