Question 826616
3(x-1) = 4 (-x + 5) solve for X? Is there a site that states the rules for solving this? I want to help my son?
<pre><pre><font face = "Arial" size = 3 color = "blue"><b>Considering that X is the same as x, we get:
3(x - 1) = 4(- x + 5)
3x - 3 = - 4x + 20 ------- Distributing both sides of equation
3x + 4x = 20 + 3 ------- Applying ADDITIVE INVERSE of - 3, and - 4x
7x = 23
{{{x = 23/7}}}, or {{{highlight_green(x = 3&2/7)}}}
You can do the check!!
