Question 69604
<pre><font face = "comic sans ms" size = 5>
How do I work out how to find the exact value of

sin<sup>-1</sup>{{{(-sqrt(3)/2)}}}

The inverse sine ( sin-1x ) is always taken
as the angle in radians in the interval
{{{-pi/2 <= angle <= pi/2}}}, that is, the interval
[{{{-pi/2}}},{{{pi/2}}}] which has x for its sine.

The only angle which has {{{-sqrt(3)/2}}} for its sine which
is in the interval [{{{-pi/2}}},{{{pi/2}}}] is {{{-pi/3}}}.
